I wake up in my king-size bed. It was a short but restful night. When I look at my phone, I see a voice message from Peer. I thought it would be a 'we have arrived safely' message... I was wrong :P
Apparently, the two of them couldn't find their booked room at the end of their 13-hour drive to Saigon because the hostel I recommended was fully booked. It's called overbooked, I guess. Of course, they are angry at me now. After all, I was the one who recommended it.
I also told the people at the hostel that my two homies would arrive at night. But to book a room and then have none available? That's not my fault.
I hope they were able to find something else.
Anyway, now I'll go to the buffet and have breakfast in my hotel :D
8:38 am
I was at the buffet. They have fried eggs, a small pho with chicken, some baguette, toast, and watermelon. I'll have some coffee and then go back to my room. It was okay for the price, but I think it only satisfied my small hunger for now.
11:59 am
I rented a scooter. It will be brought to the hotel soon. 300k for 48 hours. I'll quickly go to Kmart, then I'll go to Monkey Mountain again with Julian.
4:53 pm
We are back in Da Nang. This time at the beach. Each with a coffee. Julian still needs to book a bus for tomorrow. I'll relax tomorrow. First, I'll go to Hoi An.
The Monkey Mountain was not as spectacular as I had hoped. Probably because we only saw a fraction of it on foot. Where we parked our motorcycles, there was an option for 250k to rent motorcycles again to drive further behind the barrier, through the whole area. We went up the hill with our slippers, saw a troop of monkeys, and then went back. Still, it was nice to sip a coconut at the spot on the hill. By the way, it was my first coconut.
7:45 pm
We are at a fish restaurant. Now we're really in for €10.
We drove over the Dragon Bridge. The whole city shines at night in such vibrant colors. The energy crisis obviously doesn't exist here.
9:57 pm
I'm back in the room. I said goodbye to Julian at the night market and drove back to the hotel. He now has a Tinder date.
I would also love to wander around the market with my cloud and enjoy the evening 😔
At least the food was so good at this fish restaurant that I don't feel as bad anymore.
I definitely have to go there again tomorrow evening to try the mussels.
Now I'm planning my trip to Hoi An tomorrow.
Good night and shoutouts to Julian again, the day was great. I hope we see each other again in Ninh Binh or something 🤞
P.S.
Ole and Peer visited the hostel in Saigon based on my recommendation and were bitterly disappointed. Their booked room was occupied even though they had paid. The hostel was closed when they arrived early in the morning at 6 am after a 13-hour drive. The people I liked apparently don't think Peer and Ole are cool.
I'm sad that the two of them are spending their final days in Vietnam like this. I hope they make the best out of it...
I just wanted to record that in the blog
And now back to the studio 🍿
