We have arrived back at the summerly 30 degrees by the sea - finally!
Valparaíso is full of colors, we stroll up and down the city hills. Twisting streets, steep roads, and countless steps shape the charm of this city. Houses, squares, and walls are filled with street artists - what a joyful and colorful atmosphere. On Sunday there will be a mountain bike race right through the city center. It starts at the highest point, where international riders jump out of a house. We will see spectacular jumps over containers, rooftops, steep stairs, walls, and ramps.
The harbor is filled with cargo ships and numerous containers, so we take a bus to Viña Del Mar, which is 15 minutes away, for a few days of swimming. It's worth staying here. The beach right in front of the door, the sun and the warmth feel so good. Here I jump into the Pacific Ocean for the first time in my life and let the waves whirl me around.
With Carina, a girl from my hostel, we hike to the sand dune, tan on the beach, and eat countless delicious empanadas offered by a pizza restaurant next to our hostel.
The beach promenade lined with palm trees and the numerous green parks exude a wonderful holiday atmosphere.
