The journey from Kamloops to Vancouver went quite smoothly. There were no complications in getting to the hostel, and I was able to check into my room right away. I especially liked that because I had already been up since 6 o'clock. When I entered the room, only one out of four beds was occupied at first. Fiona from Switzerland has been traveling since mid-April. Shortly after that, our second roommate Karen also arrived. She is from Toronto and is a bit older (around 60 (ok, we asked her and she is 75🤷)). Finally, Alice from Toronto arrived, but she only stayed in the hostel for one night.
In the evening, I met up with Charlotte, whom I had met on the tour in Banff, to grab some food and watch the sunset.
She gave me some tips on what I absolutely must see in Vancouver.
The next morning, I woke up a bit earlier because I had signed up for a Free Walking Tour of Downtown and Waterfront.
By the way, the weather in Vancouver is really good, 15 degrees Celsius and sunny.
With our tour guide Emma (who has been a stand-up comedian for 11 years), we walked through Downtown for 2 hours until we reached the harbor.
After the tour, following Charlotte and Emma's recommendation, I rented a bike and rode it through Stanley Park.
When I returned to the hostel, there was a new roommate in the room. Alicia from Brisbane. I went with her to the Granville Bridge again to watch the sunset.
Tomorrow, I have signed up for another free walking tour that explores a different area of Vancouver.
