Welcome to paradise, I must say.
Ants, beetles, and lizards that keep you awake and a humid heat that hits you hard.
In short, the past few days have been a bit crazy.
When I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom,
I had no idea it would be such a sleepless night.
Anyway, I sleepily opened the door to the bathroom and discovered a large beetle in front of me (just imagine a cockroach).
I quickly closed the door again, afraid that it might run into my bedroom.
'Come on Lea, you can do this. It's just a bug.'
So, I turned on the light, opened the door, and stood in the middle of the bathroom.
Arms wrapped around my body, on tiptoes.
My gaze wandered from one corner to another, over the sink and down to the floor. And it didn't stop at just one bug..
My whole bathroom was occupied by ants, beetles, and little spiders.
While one bug quickly turned into five and one even crawled over my toothbrush. I just thought, 'Yuck, I just brushed my teeth with that.'
Going to the toilet peacefully was not an option.
So, I went back to the bedroom, and there was a lizard running from one corner straight towards my bed.
I ended up hunting lizards at midnight. And then my bladder reminded me. 'Oh, no.'
Since this wouldn't end well, I crawled back into bed and hoped to fall asleep soon. It turned out to be a short night.
'The anticipation for a clean home in Switzerland and fresh drinking water reached 100% that night.'
The daytime heat is also far from relaxing.
So it's all quite challenging.
I think I need a vacation.
To travel in a place, while rainy season is a true, raw experience,
which well have an impact on you.
