The next 2 nights we will spend on the edge of the Wahiba Desert at the Al Reem Desert Camp!
On the first night we are the only guests in the entire camp, which is not a problem - we simply enjoy the absolute silence!
The offered desert tour is too expensive for us (90 euros) and we prefer to do it elsewhere, but we still come across camels during a walk!
On the second night, Laure and Vincent from Marseille also stay at the camp.
We spend a nice evening together, have interesting conversations about their recent trips (they also made a round-the-world trip 15 years ago and travel to very interesting countries like Uzbekistan, Iran, Tibet, etc. every year) and get a nice bonfire!
Finally, we can say that not only does the automatic car take the fun out of driving, but also the roads in Oman. The Sultan has set traps for us! 😰 It could be so nice, the roads are wide and there is often not much traffic, but constantly (sometimes every 5 meters) there are speed bumps - which were painted yellow a long time ago, now there is no difference from the road - that can be driven at a maximum of 20 km/h. But they also come in 60 and 80 zones - often out of nowhere, without warning, right after an 80 km/h sign! Why??
