In the morning of the 15th, we went to Koh Samui airport, where we were surprised to be sponsored breakfast. Cool thing. First destination is Singapore airport, where we had lunch and did some shopping. Departure to Denpassar in Bali. Once we landed, we received our visa and went in search of our host Putu, from Pondok Permata Homestay. He greeted us very kindly and during the car ride to Ubud, he told us a lot about his culture and what's going on in Ubud, very polite Balinese people. After arriving at the homestay, Coco (one of his employees) served us hot tea and we could relax on the terrace. After our horror nights in the musty Cucaracha room, this one here was like heaven on earth. Well-ventilated with windows and Balinese architecture, which means it's open at the top under the roof and there's proper air circulation. A nice bathroom and the bed has a wonderful mosquito net. We haven't had a good night's sleep for a long time and we fell into a deep, restful sleep.
On the following day, we didn't do anything except settle in and decided to stay here for more than 2 days. So we booked until the 26th, which was no problem because, let's be honest, the people here at the homestay are first class. The food is freshly prepared and breakfast is always delivered to the terrace, where you can enjoy the view of a paddy field surrounded by palm trees. That's the life.
