AIDAbella & 1st sea day

Ishicilelwe: 13.01.2017

After a long day in Bangkok, we arrived on the AIDAbella on Tuesday late afternoon. Since the rainfalls in Koh Samui were so heavy, we were informed right at the boarding that the route had been changed. Instead of Koh Samui on Wednesday, a sea day was on the program. and for that we would stay two days in Singapore instead of one as planned.

I (Kerstin) apparently upset my stomach in Bangkok, after the Welcome Party in the evening, which we enjoyed extensively this time, my stomach rebelled. I spent the whole Wednesday in bed and only ate bread and herbal tea. For me, the rerouting was a stroke of luck.

Then we drove to Singapore at full speed, 39km/h and accordingly rough seas. A nice rocking tour.

We arrived in Singapore on Thursday at 2pm, namely at the Cruise Center Sentosa Island. The subway is right in front of the door, so to speak, but we still had some slight problems.

We left the ship around 3pm, as there is passport control in Singapore we had to pick up our passport on deck 9 beforehand (which normally stays on the ship the whole time). The immigration took a while because of course everyone wanted to get off the ship.

When we arrived at the subway station, we stood in front of the wrong ticket machine for quite a while. We wanted a 2-day pass and you can only get it at the counter. So we lined up there. After a 30-minute wait, when there were only 4 people in front of us, the lady at the counter decided to take her break and closed the counter for 1 hour. When we asked at the information desk, we were told that there is only this one counter for the day passes. We were really annoyed and unfortunately our desire for Singapore was a bit spoiled. After a coffee and a piece of cheesecake at Starbucks in the harbor terminal, we went back to the ship....to Mira at the bar, for a Vodka Lemon ;-)

Singapore will get another chance on Friday, we have the whole day to explore, the AIDA will only leave at 11.58 pm.
