Today's stage, with over 500 km, 400 of which on rough gravel roads, was not really planned. The lodge was also not well chosen, as it is 60 km away from the entrance to the largest dune in the world. When I booked in August, the lodge right at the entrance was shown as "fully booked". Yesterday, rooms were available after all. I think it's really better to wait...
Anyway, after 9 hours we arrived at the booked lodge and on the way we enjoyed the vastness of the country as always, visited a war grave where Germans, Namibians and Boers lie side by side harmoniously, and also saw some animals from up close.... Zebras.... Oryx and a very cheeky pair of ostriches.... Tomorrow morning we will drive to the dunes
