In the morning it's raining...mmmhhhh...not nice, but what can we do! We've had four weeks of peace now. We drink coffee in the rain, pack in the rain, and drive off in the rain. We can really start talking about going home slowly and we decide to drive about 200 km every day to get closer to home. We choose a city called Cambrils on the coast. It continues to pour along the way and the weather forecast doesn't look any different on the entire coast towards Costa Brava...it could have waited for another week until we're through here...but no...a little more rain to finish! We reach the site in Cambrils around 2.30 p.m., right by the sea...nice...we choose a nice spot with a sea view and direct beach access...not a chance...!!!
At the reception we are told that there is a severe weather warning for the next three days and all pitches at the front are closed...huh...what didn't we know again? In Valencia, it's especially bad (good thing we were just there...) and further down in Alicante, waves up to 8 meters high are expected...in the Mediterranean, the old bathtub...that means something! Why do we always have the gift of going to a place by the sea when there's storm and severe weather warnings...?!
Well, we take a spot in the back rows and hope that the night won't be too wild! We check the weather news again and indeed the coastal area here is marked in deep red...ok...!
At least it's dry now and we can sit in front of the bus. And then our neighbor comes and asks if we have already eaten, because she cooked too much...pasta with fresh vegetables...! No, we still wanted to cook...but if that's the case...we would love to sacrifice ourselves for the remaining two portions! Perfect, what a service! I'm tempted to ask what's for breakfast...!
Actually, we wanted to walk along the beach again, but since it's high tide and the storm is already pushing the water in, there is unfortunately no beach...!
We spend the evening in a cozy way and I go to bed early with a book, because slowly but surely there are winter temperatures and you can feel that bad weather is in the air.
Let's see what's coming tonight!
