Without much planning, but with a lot of anticipation, I headed for this vacation. My work and the summer storms have made 2021 pass by in a flash. 'What, already September?' I thought as I looked at the calendar. Time to do something good for myself. And so the decision to go on a spontaneous adventure with my motorhome and then decide where to go came very spontaneously.
So today I took over my temporary tiny house, packed the essentials, loaded up my e-reader with travel literature, and off we go!
The first stop is clear. A few days ago, my colleague Andy called and invited me to visit a field test for search and rescue dogs by REDOG at Col des Mosses. Of course, I can't miss this opportunity. And from Col des Mosses, you can still head to the Atlantic coast or the Balkans.
So I set off in the late afternoon and arrived at the small pass Pierre de Möellé shortly before 8 p.m. Some special memories come back. This is where I served as a company commander 26 years ago. A time that demanded a lot from my wife and me.
So now I'm spending the first night and I'm excited to see what the morning brings.
