Sydney is in a class of its own, this city radiates charm, is interesting and has everything, city life, beaches, harbor, many festivals and artists, surfer neighborhood, the zoo and of course the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House .... !! Actually, we were only there for a short time. Our hotel offered a magnificent view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. So we made our way to the busy Circular Quay and took the ship to the zoo. Since the Sydney Zoo is located on a hill, you always have a great view of the city between crocodiles and koalas. Since Rafaela and Kira both do ballet, we visited the 'Dark Emu' dance theater at the Opera House. This piece, performed by an Aboriginal group, depicted the dramatic history of the indigenous people in this country. It was gripping and expressive.
Soon it was time to pack up again and head to Honolulu, Hawaii. After a turbulent flight arrived in Hawaii, we could put away our sweaters. The thirty-degree warm light Pacific breeze greeted us and made us sweat right away.....
In Honolulu, we naturally wanted to see the famous Waikiki Beach, the beach of the first surfers (wave riders). This is presented very spacious and lined with some palm trees very beautiful. However, tourists from all over the world have taken over this place around the clock. So after a short stay, we made an 'island hopper' to Maui.
