Since we had already seen a lot of Sydney the day before, we wanted to go early today to “Bondi Beach”, which is famous especially among surfers and is also a quarter of an hour outside of the city.

Even though we were there at 7:30 a.m., we barely managed to get a parking space. The local association for lifeguards and surfers had invited people to the big event for young and old and already populated the promenade in the early hours of the morning.

So we had a proper breakfast, watched the hustle and bustle on the beach and then chilled out until the early afternoon.

Since there were more and more people on the beach and unfortunately also the clouds in the sky, we drove back to the campsite to take the bus to the center again in the evening. There we saw the sunset in a park with a beautiful view of the Harbor Bridge and had a delicious dinner at a Lebanese restaurant. We took the ferry home to get one last view of the skyline, the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge in the dark.

As we were somewhat haphazardly looking for the right bus from the harbor towards the campsite, a bus driver came up to us and asked where we wanted to go. Since he had apparently just finished work and our stop was on his way home, he simply took us with him, raced through the city and let us out at the campsite with a few friendly words. As already mentioned, the Australians seem to see everything a little more relaxed.
