Santiago

After all the nature in the past few days, it was time for me to go to the capital. This time not by bus, but by plane. So I saved myself 2 and a half days on the bus.

The first great thing about Santiago is the weather. It's super warm, around 30 degrees every day. Since I already knew that, an important criterion for choosing a hostel was a pool. I got that! ;)

The city itself is also great. There is a lot to see and explore. But I have to admit that the pool strongly prevents me from leaving the hostel.

Nevertheless, I did get out of the hostel. In the first few days, I took part in a walking tour. The program included various markets in the city, the metro, some important squares, and the cemetery. It sounds a bit macabre, but it's quite normal. The locals also use this cemetery for bike tours or "excursions" in the greenery. It's huge and divided into different sections. Depending on social status/financial means, the graves are designed. I think you can tell from the pictures whether someone is poor, wealthy, or rich ;)

The markets:

I also went to a museum. It was recommended to me. It deals with human rights and the history of Chile in this regard. It was quite exciting, but unfortunately, almost all of the explanations were in Spanish, so it was a bit tedious to understand. Taking pictures was once again not allowed, but my companion did not hesitate and took some ;)

Here are a few more impressions from the city:
