Tag 100 - Poetry Festival

Ishicilelwe: 12.02.2018

The festival is open. The opening speech was given by one of the most famous writers in Nicaragua, Gioconda Belli. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gioconda_Belli) I have also read one of her books. She said that Nicaragua is the country with the most poets per square meter in all of Central America. Define "poet". And that the Nicas love poetry and literature. It's just strange that there are hardly any bookstores here and therefore hardly any books to buy. The selection of the only bookstore in Granada consists of 75% used books (good idea), most of which are in English (stupid idea). That means they are bought by tourists. I have never seen a Nica with a book under their arm. And e-books are practically unknown here.

Today, I took a stroll through the book market. Three white tents, one of them exclusively for children's and youth books including school or learning books. Wow! The prices are moderate. But I felt overwhelmed by the selection for the project. I need to discuss it again with the project team. Maybe one of the teachers can make a selection.

I have to correct myself a little: 130 authors from all over the world are invited, not just mainly from Latin America. There are even two Germans: Ute Margaret Saine and Karsten Steinmetz. Never heard of them.

The weather is hot, cloudless, and calm.

isch weiss - ich bin spät dran - aber kann ich nochmal auf Tag 98 zurückkommen? War nur der Friseurkittel pink - oder ist das jetzt deine neue Haarfarbe?

Kleiner
Lass Dich überraschen! Nee, keine neue Haarfarbe. Nur ein bischen kürzer und stufiger. Ich stehe jetzt zu meinen grauen Haaren.

wie du schon sagtest: du kannst doch alles tragen ;-)
