20.09.2019 always something new..

Ishicilelwe: 21.09.2019

Yes, something new every week. Otherwise it would be boring, right? - so-so.

Mike's grid has changed again spontaneously ... We feel like we write this in every post, but unfortunately it's true.

Fortunately, Jenny's farmer said that we will somehow manage it.

This 'week' was the first week where we worked 8 consecutive days without a day off and have 2 days off. Just yesterday, it was spontaneously decided that Mike has 3 instead of 2 days off. Maybe Jenny can also change it spontaneously, but unfortunately that will be decided at short notice.

The sun makes the temperatures shoot up. In the morning, still with a hat and three layers of clothing, and in the afternoon in a T-shirt.

Here are some impressions of our work in the photos. Most of the calves are now at the stage where they are no longer fed in the barn, but on the field. One day, Jenny had to catch a calf on the field again and transport it in the car because it was sick. When calves are sick, they are immediately separated.

Mike now sometimes has to start working at 3:15 am and then milk the cows. Then, at around 6:30 am, he has half an hour for breakfast and then works from 7 am to 5 pm. In between, he has an hour for lunch.

Jenny usually works from 7 am to 4 pm with a lunch break. But now in the afternoon, there is less and less to do, so she sometimes has the afternoon off.

One of Mike's tasks is also 'rolling'. He drives with the tractor and a huge steam roller over every field so that it is completely even and can regenerate.

One day, Jenny was able to ride with Mike on the tractor after she finished work :-).

When the sun was shining so beautifully in the evening, we drove to the river just 2 km away and enjoyed the sun a little bit.

Only 3 weeks of work left, then we are done :-).
