Lighthouses in a double pack

Ishicilelwe: 08.09.2022

The pink granite coast was not pink at all, but rather grey and there was no change in that the next day either. We rode our bikes through the villages a little - got lost and therefore just missed the market we had planned to visit. Hoping for better weather seemed hopeless according to the weather online, so the next day we continued westward via Lannion.

The next highlight was supposed to be the tallest lighthouse in Europe, built of cuboid stones. It could only be visited until the end of August :-( so we also had to visit another lighthouse, the Point de St.Mathieu. There we found lighthouses in a double pack as well, garnished with ruins of an old abbey and the real Atlantic Ocean... Waves & Wind. Speaking of old abbeys - at the next one there was a large meadow where we were allowed to park and spend the night in a sacred environment. A deer visited us.

In France it's really easy to find a parking space. Almost every municipality offers a camper parking space and often you're also allowed to stay at sports fields and use their toilets. We've adopted a mix of campsites and free parking spaces, which is good for the budget. However, since 01.09. everything has become a bit cheaper or completely closed down and the tourist offerings have been reduced. The French apparently also enjoy this form of holiday-making and are significantly more tolerant in this regard.
