From Mendoza, we make our way through the Pampa plains towards Buenos Aires. 1000 km by bus from the west to the far east.
About 100 km before the east coast lies the peaceful little town of San Antonio de Arcos, considered the birthplace of the gauchos.
By evening, we are dropped off at the main street and can call a taxi from a gas station - public transportation or Uber, non-existent!
The next day, we stroll through the quiet streets lined with many nostalgic buildings. The tourist info contacts an estancia to organize a horseback ride. Fortunately, this works out at short notice for the next morning! 😃 And so, I sit for the first time in the saddle of an experienced horse and can relax a bit. The young gaucha gives us the only instruction in Spanish: 'Just let him walk at his own pace and pull the reins if things get too fast.' Katha has some prior experience from her youth but hasn't ridden since then. We take a larger loop over the fields of the estancia - everything went well! And then we continue our journey to the capital...
