Tuscany 2001 - Day 9

Sunday, 17.6.2001

I'm awake again at 8 and have to get up - I need exercise, to compensate for the many kilometers the previous day. Meanwhile, my esteemed travel companions sleep until 10 (!).

Today is definitely a day of idleness and replenishing the food reserves - the energy level has dropped drastically. Breakfast with 4 pieces of toast and everything else.
I jump into the pool for a bit, but the wind is so stormy that sunbathing is unpleasant - so I go back to the terrace.

In the afternoon there is a sudden uproar in the group - Aiola is paid the obligatory visit. The Visa card is glowing again.

In the evening at Hans the food is excellent, but I'm already struggling with the secondo piatto. I'm really skipping the tiramisu! It's as depressing as skipping out at dice poker.
I'm absolutely full and now I just have to go to bed - the last (short) night is taking its toll.
