Hi!
On Tuesday, we took a boat trip to Isla de Lobos. It is approximately 4,600 km² in size and uninhabited. The majority of the island is a nature reserve and there is only one permitted trail to explore the landscape. It is very diverse, with rocks, sand, and even small lakes along the way. At the tip of the island, you can reach a lighthouse from which you can see the neighboring island of Lanzarote. Before we returned to the apartment, we made a stop at Popcorn Beach. It is named so because the white stones on the beach look like popcorn. Unfortunately, it started raining, so we didn't stay there for long.
Yesterday, we didn't have much planned. We went back to Morro Jable to visit the turtle breeding station. It is like a 'hospital' for injured turtles. The station also undertakes many projects to reintroduce native turtles to Fuerteventura.
Today, we went to Punta Jandía, the southernmost point of Fuerteventura. First, we visited the lighthouse at the southernmost tip. Then, we explored the surrounding area and took a walk along the beach. The small village doesn't have many houses, but it has a delicious restaurant. We went there for lunch.
We will be heading home soon and we are looking forward to seeing all of you again!
See you soon, Tim & Theresa!
