Yesterday - great weather (not....)
......we didn't let that stop us and went to the Giant Sand Dunes. Mega.....(is probably one of my new favorite words). Indescribable when everything around you is green and suddenly huge sand dunes appear in front of you. After that, we went to Cape Reigna - the northernmost point. By now the weather was sooo bad that we felt like the only car on the road and also the only....crazy or stupid...ones who climbed up the hill to Cape. Yeeees....everything was still fine then. But as the weather got worse, we went to our next campsite at Matauri Bay.....Right by the water, right by the beach. Perfect. So we parked next to the car - soaking wet from the weather, happy that we are here, and suddenly a loud bang....Just like that. Me, the car expert, then tried to explain where the bang came from (:D) in the workshops and......thick fat fuck off - the spring broke and we had to leave our car in the workshop. But I have to say once again how nice and helpful the New Zealanders are. When we told the mechanic that our campsite is too far to walk, he simply drove us to a lodge where we will be picked up tomorrow and hopefully our car will be running again. Now we are sitting here in an overly expensive accommodation, which is located on a beautiful orange plantation.....
The good news - the weather is supposed to be perfect for the next few days!!!!
