On a tour in the United Kingdom, the most famous king must of course not be missing: Arthur.
Our guide Simon had a suitable legend about Arthur, Merlin, and Lancelot ready for us as we drove through Snowdonia, or Eryri National Park as it is now called.
The landscape of the park seemed to me a mix of heathland and a gravel pit. The supposedly most beautiful valley on the island was rather hard to discern due to the low-hanging clouds. Sheep herds alternated with goats and cattle. Somehow, I felt sorry for the rain-soaked animals. And everywhere, the rain flowed into the valley, or as Simon put it: in rainy weather, the landscape is significantly more beautiful than in sunshine, because you can't see all the waterfalls then. (Unfortunately, I couldn't take any photos of this because the bus's lighting was reflected in the window.
Well, the lake with the oversized sword, which belongs either to Arthur (as it says on the internet) or to a giant he defeated (as Simon said), and the small castle in the background was definitely worth a short photo stop.
