Conwy Castle

已發表: 26.09.2024

Conwy Castle is the ruin of a medieval castle built between 1283 and 1287 in Gwynedd county, overlooking the estuary of the River Conwy, which dominates the entrance to the Welsh town of Conwy. In 1986, the castle was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Source: Wikipedia)

Greetings from Braveheart, even though William Wallace was Scottish. But the king he fought against, Edward I, was the same one who annexed Wales and built Conwy Castle.

The place itself is very picturesque and is home to the smallest house in Wales. It is red and from a distance resembles a typical English telephone booth...

Also interesting: the waters near Conwy are among the most dangerous in the British Isles. Here, the tide flows in at 4 meters per second, so it is advisable to go out on the water only with local sailors.
