England June 2017 - First day in Scarborough

Our first full day in Scarborough started with a Full English Breakfast: eggs, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, and toast. So we were well prepared for the day ;)

Unfortunately, the weather today didn't look much better than yesterday, but we had planned ahead and decided to go to Sea Life. It is recommended to book the tickets online the day before. For some reason, the tickets cost twice as much when bought on-site compared to ordering them online in advance. So instead of paying 18 pounds, we only paid 9.50 pounds.

We walked along the beach promenade to get to Sea Life. In good weather, this is surely a nice holiday resort. When we arrived at Sea Life, we just had to provide our ticket number and were allowed to enter. The aquarium was nicely done and for 9.50 pounds, it was okay, but I wouldn't have paid 18 pounds for it. Unfortunately, it was quite crowded, full of children (but well, what did we expect :D), and we went through it quite quickly. As a souvenir, we got a plush otter.

After that, we went to the market hall in town to stroll around a little bit. When we came out, it started pouring heavily, and by the time we got back to our accommodation, we were completely soaked. So the first thing to do was to take a hot shower and dry our clothes before we set off for dinner!
