The third day in Budapest started after the late evening we strolled through the market hall I bought a postcard for my grandparents and sent it directly to the post office.
We spent the time until sunset at the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial. A man next to me on the wall asked if it wasn't strange that the memorial is used as a tourist attraction. There were many people there (including me) taking photos and yes, I don't think everyone knew the cruel history behind the iron shoes. But maybe it does have an impact, even if it's a small one, every little bit helps.
In the evening, I had booked a sightseeing boat tour, which in hindsight wasn't worth it because the boat was quite crowded and you could have seen the Parliament building from the other side of the river. (And there is a boat that belongs to public transport, but I only found out after I had already booked) On the way to the boat, we also visited the Little Prince and when we saw the queue, I quickly admitted that it wasn't worth it, but Guayas couldn't resist and teased me about it all evening. In the end, we still got some beautiful photos and the 'skyline' of Budapest with the warm lights is also nice to enjoy just like that.
The evening ended with a Langos and later with a few card games.
