The next day started with not so good weather. Since it kept raining, we knew what our next destination would be and it was perfect for this weather. The Atlantic Road. In Norwegian, we find it even more beautiful: Atlanterhavsveien.
8.3 km, 8 bridges connecting various small fishing islands and providing a picturesque coastal view of the Atlantic.
With great anticipation, we packed everything and did some car maintenance. After all, the bus still needs to remain faithful to us and deserves our affection from time to time.
3 hours after departure, we reached Kristiansund for a short detour. We went to a small Norwegian shop and explored part of the harbor. Then it wasn't far and we reached the Atlantic Road for the second time in our lives. Even more impressive on this day, as the waves of the Atlantic did their best to break on the shore. A nature force that is difficult to capture in pictures, it impresses but also intimidates.
Apart from the different viewpoints and paths along the sea and bays, one bridge always stands out. A bridge that seems to lead into the sky.
An breathtaking route that showed many sides of the weather. We experienced it firsthand. We got completely soaked in a heavy but short rain shower, combined with cold wind. A dream. Even the dog wanted to go back to the car immediately. However, the shower dissipated within a very short time, added some wind, and dried us off again. And just like that, the sun appeared.
After enjoying the sunshine and the final impressions of the Atlanterhavsveien, we decided to find a new spot for the coming night. It was located by a large lake between tall mountains and trees, near a small village named Bud.
After enjoying a lot of peace and a delicious portion of porridge, we fell asleep in peace.
