Tag 95 - Mom arrives in London ❤️

Hi guys!

This morning we slept until 9:30 am because we had plenty of time. Recently, I checked how far we have to drive to the rented accommodation for mom. I always had 2-3 hours in mind and we agreed with the landlord to pick up the key between two and three o'clock. So no stress! Around 11 am, I entered the destination again in the navigation system to see if there was any traffic..... It wasn't a two or three hour drive... It was five!!! And one traffic jam after another... I confessed my mistake to Kevin, who fortunately took it pretty easy :).

So we called the landlord and told him that we will be a bit later - around 5 pm.

We hit the road and endured all the traffic jams that the navigation system indicated.

When we arrived at the destination, everything went smoothly: we got the key, parked the camper and waited until it was 10 pm. Then we could pick up mom! Her accommodation is very modest: one bed, one bathroom, and a emergency kitchen. But she's not here for luxury vacation and we will rarely be there. It's fine like this :).

Finally, it was time to leave. Luton Airport, here we come!

The airport is well organized! There is a "Drop off & Pick up" zone where you can find a comfortable spot and wait. Mom's flight was 30 minutes delayed, but since we knew about it, we were still "in time". 45 minutes after the landing, I got nervous and walked towards the arrival area. No mom... Back to Kevin in the camper... He told me that she just called and was stuck at passport control. We walked back to the arrival area and waited for her there. About 1.5 hours after her landing, she made it. We were all thrilled that everything worked out and went to the rented "house". Actually, it's more like a container, but as long as we have a place to sleep, it's fine.

We made some burgers, had a glass of wine, and after some chatting, everyone was exhausted. Well, by now it was 2:30 am, so it was really time to go to sleep.

Tomorrow, mom and I will have a shopping day in London and Kevin will have a day of peace :).

More details will follow tomorrow :))

See you then!
