February 19, 2018 - Arrival in Phuket

Atejade: 22.02.2018

Arrived at the bus terminal at 07:30 am and headed towards Phuket Downtown.

On the way there, I met Adrien. He is from France and is currently traveling through Asia. He asked me where I wanted to go. After I told him that I wanted to go to Patong Beach, he asked if he could join me. And just like that, I was no longer alone. 😀👍 He had only booked the transfer and didn't know yet where he wanted to stay for the night.

Afterwards, we continued from Phuket Downtown to Patong.
Then I used Google Maps to see where the hostel is, which I initially booked for 7 nights.

Arriving at the hostel, Adrien also tried to get a room. But since only the 4-bed rooms were available, it was twice as expensive. He decided to check with other hostels.

A little later, we met again to explore the surroundings, as we still had 3 hours until we could check in. (Pictures attached)😊

Adrien has been in Australia with a work and travel visa since last year. He rented an apartment in Sydney, which he shares with another Australian. He will stay in Australia until September this year and then return to France.

When we returned to the hostel, I met Aida at check-in.😁

She is from Düsseldorf and has Bosnian roots. It was the first time in 3 days that I could have a conversation in German again.😅

She is also traveling alone and has a 2-week vacation. Just as crazy as me, she also only booked a one-way ticket to Phuket and had no accommodation yet. As luck would have it, we met at the hostel I booked.

I then invited her to have dinner with Adrien and me in the evening. And just like that, there were three of us.😁

It was a very fun evening with the two of them. We ate first and then went to a bar right on the party street to have some drinks. They played really awesome live music there.👌
I was really impressed, the music was great and then I couldn't stay in my seat anymore and had to dance.😀 After 3 Chang beers and sweaty clothes, I returned to the hostel around 03:30 am.😅 I said goodbye to Adrien, as he was already moving on the next day. Maybe I will meet him again in Sydney. 😊
