We had a great tour of Soweto, where Mandela lived and where uprisings against apartheid took place. We visited an old coal power plant, where you can now do a bungee jump, as well as the Mandela House and the Hector Peterson Museum. We also had African food. We also visited the Soweto Stadium from the 2010 World Cup. Then we drove through Johannesburg and went to 'the top of Africa'. This is the Carlton Centre, where you can look out over Johannesburg from an observation platform. After the long tour, we were looking forward to being able to relax. Mom also got a little too much sun. Unfortunately, we realized that we hadn't received a navigation system, which we urgently need for tomorrow's drive to Sabie. Our host tried for almost an hour to reach someone at Avis. It didn't work. So he drove us, accompanied by his brother-in-law, to the Avis shop at the airport. Tomorrow, the father of our host here will celebrate his 80th birthday. That's why the whole family is gathering. Thankfully, we got our navigation system easily at the shop. Now it's time to relax, as we have a long tour to Sabie tomorrow.
