On the first day we first had to come to terms with the many different impressions. The huge high-rise buildings, the many people, the air-conditioned interiors🥶🥶 the smell of grass on every corner 😅 in fact we almost couldn't believe how often it smelled like it. Florida (still) has a very strict marijuana law compared to other states.
To arrive comfortably, we visited South Beach and downtown Miami. Highly recommended is a ride on the Metromover, an elevated train that runs 7 km through downtown Miami.
The following day we did a hop on hop off tour (big bus stop) so we were able to experience Miami up close and visit several neighborhoods worth seeing.
The district with the many colorful murals, all houses/buildings are painted by street artists.
Afterwards we went to Calle 8 (little Havana) where we could get a taste of Cuban air. Cuban music, the smell of cigars and the sale of mojitos emanated from every corner.
The crowning finale was a boat tour on the Bayside in Miami. It's impressive to drive along the harbor and marvel at the backdrop of Miami in the background. Star Island with its pompous villas, some of them more like palaces on the water, is also worth seeing. It's crazy what kind of villas there are and what filthy rich people there are in the world 🙈of course some of the owners of the houses are well-known personalities like Julio Iglesias, P. Diddy or Shakira.
The excursion is definitely recommended and the price-performance ratio is great👍🏽
