#60 Sierra Nevada

Atejade: 04.02.2022

January 24-25, 2022: Pampaneira, Capileira

F. Two of our Spanish sources for travel tips recommended the villages of Pampaneira and Campileira on the edge of the Sierra Nevada. Among other things, because you can still see the historic Arab architecture in the small villages. The drive to the two villages was very winding and had many uphill sections. The views along the way were definitely worth the trip. The two villages were also very beautiful to look at, but unfortunately we did not discover the Arab architecture. If you find it in one of the many photos, let us know...

As the name Sierra Nevada suggests, there were also some snow-capped peaks to see. Because the mountain range is the highest in the Iberian Peninsula at 3482 meters and usually has a snow cap from November to May each year.
