Cordoba

The journey to Cordoba is a bit chaotic. We choose a campground a few kilometers behind Cordoba and head towards it. Unfortunately, when we arrive, we find out that it has been closed for a few days. So we continue driving on the road and eventually find ourselves in the middle of an olive grove. Even though we practiced reversing with a caravan before the trip, it doesn't help us in this moment. The road is so narrow that we have to unhitch the caravan and turn the car around to get out of the olive grove. Eventually, we quickly find a new campground in the mountains above Cordoba in a national park. Endless hairpin turns, 14% incline, and the entire drive in 2nd gear... Finally, when we arrive, we don't see anyone near the reception for about 45 minutes. The fatigue starts to affect our mood. Finally, we can check in and find a nice spot in a pine forest. There are only 2 other campers here besides us. After one night, we are even alone on the campground. We discover the most beautiful sanitary facilities we have ever seen. Everything smells like cinnamon and is lovingly decorated.

One day, we visit the beautiful old town of Cordoba. It's surprisingly empty. Another day, we plan to visit a lake further up in the mountains and when we arrive, we realize that the chosen destination is a small industrial area. So we explore the surrounding area of the campground and find a nice trail in the national park, which is dotted with barbecue areas. The temperatures are already quite cool in the mountains and at night they approach freezing point.

For the next 2 nights, we head further into the mountains and drive to Ronda.
