We took a day trip to Bremerhaven from Bremen by train.
First, we visited the Emigrant House, which has a large and interesting exhibition about emigrants who started their journey from Bremerhaven to distant places, and immigrants who came to Germany.
There were many listening stations where we could learn about general information about migration or individual stories from different centuries.
Afterwards, we took a walk along the waterfront.
As the Weser River silted up in the 19th century, a harbor was built further north and Bremerhaven was created.
We passed by the Klimahaus, whose exhibition we had seen on our last visit here, and climbed the dike along the shore.
Then we returned to Bremen by bus and train.
In the evening, we watched some of the qualification games of the German Beach Tour in beach volleyball, which took place right in front of the main train station.
