The day was quickly summarized. We got up early, packed up, checked out and at 8:05 am we headed to Berlin.
First to Hennigsdorf - a suburb of Berlin in the northwest - where we met with the Brodt family in an allotment garden for a barbecue. Simon, the father, has been a colleague of mine for many years and has been living in Hennigsdorf for about four years. We took the opportunity to get to know his wife Nadja and his children Jona and Noemie.
Simon grilled delicious sausages, chicken skewers and to top it all off, a piece of roast beef; with excellent potato-cucumber salad made by Nadja. Thank you very much!

Afterwards, we continued to Mahlow in the south of Berlin. An accident on the city ring road (as I later learned from the radio) caused traffic congestion throughout Berlin, and I had to rely on my big city instincts to find a navigable route against the navigation system and Google. It worked. We settled into our new home around 4:30 pm. After that, we went to the Greek restaurant in the town, where we had moussaka and hot and cold starters of good quality.
