26.02. - 04.03: first month is over

Atejade: 04.03.2018

Heeeeeeeello!!!
I can't believe it, but the first month is already over. It's crazy how fast time flies :o
On one hand, it feels like I've only been here for a few days, and on the other hand, everything is already so familiar, as if I've been living here forever. Anyway, I'm still super happy :-D

Nothing exciting happened this week. So far, I only had the 'Education and Culture in Europe (and Japan)' course, and my other courses started on Monday: Youth Culture Expressed through Music; Outdoor Living and Learning; Creative Learning and Innovation in School. At first glance, these courses are also really cool - I'm excited (-:

26.02:
Today, I only had the 'Creative Learning' course because one of our professors is sick and had to cancel her classes for this week. So there is no 'Education and Culture in Europe' this week :-)
We had a little introduction to the course, tried to define creativity and creative learning, and then played a few creative games:
- Zip-Zap-Zoo
- Find Someone who?
- I know what's in your pocket
- One-Two-Three
- Morningmood (build a poem)
It was actually pretty cool so far. There are also some Danish students in the course, which is great because we can get to know locals as well :-)
In the evening, we had Danish class again, and yeah, that's it (:

27.02:
Today, we had the music course 'Youth Culture Expressed Through Music' for the first time. It's mainly about history, and we have to perform a few songs/musicals in small groups. The first song is 'The Cats in the Cradle' - we have already rehearsed it once. (Not so easy when you don't have sheet music and no one really has much to do with music ^^). But we'll figure it out together :)

28.02, 01.03.:

The normal student life here is slowly settling in. I go to university, have my language class, and do some shopping or hang out in the city in between. So, I won't have much else to tell soon ^^
..except of course about my weekends.

02.03:

Tonight, there was a rave party at the FC (Friday Caffe). That means we all dressed in white so we could paint ourselves with fluorescent colors at the FC (which we didn't really do in the end - at least not on our clothes). We got a glow stick for every drink, and the whole party was pretty normal. Alcohol, white clothes, colorful paint on our faces, and lots of dancing :-) It was another fun evening!

03.03.:

Today was a very relaxed and lazy day. I did a little bit of university work, cooked, watched a few series, and once again thought about where I could travel to while I'm still up here in the North. Conclusion: I have way too little money for that ^^

In the evening, Teresa, Brenda, Sophia, Rebeca, Lisa, Charlotte, Jen, Astrid, Pascal, and I went to Boldts Bar. Technically, entry is only allowed for people 24 years and older - but it wasn't a problem at all because no one checked anyway :-)
(by the way, it's a very small bar)
There was live music in the bar:
Natasja Lee Dickinson - Folk and country concert (a Danish singer).
.. and she was sooooo good! Really!!!

During the break, she passed by Teresa and me and talked to us. We explained to her that we are Erasmus students and chatted for a few minutes.
After the break, she sang a few songs and then came up with the glorious idea of inviting Teresa and me on stage with her. So we went up to her and sang Joline with her - we're just too cool ;-P

After her concert ended at 23:00, Teresa, Pascal, and I went to our 'regular bar' Tribunen, where there was also good live music. The weird thing is that there is really NOTHING going on here on Saturdays - unfortunately, not even at the concerts, which I think is a shame because the bands are really good :-)
Well, anyway. We stayed there for another hour and then went home.

04.03:
Today is a typical Sunday. Sleeping in, having a cozy breakfast, doing a little bit of university work, and cleaning up.
At 4:00, we were invited for tea and cake at our 'host parents' Jette and Morten's house. It was a really cozy two hours in their house. Jette baked some typical Danish cookies for us - so nice of her and SO DELICIOUS!
I can't get enough of the food here, it's so tasty :-)
Alright, now it's time for bed - after all, it's an early start tomorrow!

Until next week!
Kiss - V.
