Today, we woke up early again. At half past six, after a quick breakfast, we set off to San Francisco. Since we still had about 250 miles ahead of us, we decided to refuel shortly after departure. Unfortunately, the gas station was small, but the RV was big, and to make matters worse, they had placed a bollard right in the blind spot of the RV. After traveling thousands of miles with the giant vehicle without incident, the last gas station became our downfall.
After everyone's emotions had calmed down somewhat, we continued our journey and arrived at the return location in Oakland just a few minutes late.
Fortunately, Marielle had compiled a list of all the defects, leaks, and blockages of the RV. She presented this list to the friendly gentleman in charge of the return, so he was quite forgiving regarding the scratch. So the whole thing only cost us $200.
From Oakland to the hotel in San Francisco, we had a shuttle from El Monte. So we arrived in the city center relatively quickly. The hotel is very well located. However, it is a bit older and the last big earthquake has also left its mark. The rooms were so small that we hardly knew where to put our suitcases.
But we are not here for the hotel, we are here for the city. We wanted to explore it right away. We visited the port and the Fisherman's Wharf, where we enjoyed delicious seafood.
