World Ocean Day

Monday was World Ocean Day in Japan, a public holiday. That day I hiked up Mt. Maowai near Sapporo. The view was really beautiful and it was really hard going up. I sweated through my entire T-shirt. In the end, though, I thought it was well worth it. Otherwise, the week wasn't particularly eventful. I went to work, browsed around the megastore and went out for curry with work colleagues on Friday. On Saturday I drove to Otaru and looked around the town and the canal. Otherwise, I'm glad that I've settled in well and have already learned the first Japanese dishes. I hope next week will be as nice as the last.
