73. To Patras

73rd Day: Today was mainly characterized by annoying duties. First, we had to do the laundry again. Then we cancelled our ferry to Bari, Italy, Apulia due to the bad weather in Italy. We have decided to take the overland route through the Balkan countries back home. This decision was not easy for us. On the one hand, we didn't want to take any risks (the Foreign Office warns of storm surges), on the other hand, our "friend" Kachelmann is convinced that it will rain and thunder next week in both Naples (Pompeii) and Rome. As a consolation, we immediately booked a ferry to Zakynthos for tomorrow! As a consequence, we had to drive a few kilometers to Patras. In between, we took a walk in the surroundings of Lefkas (Lefkada Town). Shortly before our destination, we had a very delicious dinner in a remote restaurant. It was located right by the sea and could only be reached via an unreliable dirt road. Tonight, we will stay in front of a craft beer brewery called Kykao on the outskirts of Patras.
