Finally the first time hiking :). That was such a beautiful day! Today we took a total of 24,000 steps and hiked almost 16 km. We took the bus from the bus station in Christchurch on the 28 line towards Lyttleton. We got off at the Heathcote Station near Christchurch's Gondola and started the 'Bridle Path Track' hike. It was quite challenging as it went steeply uphill. Once we reached the top, the view was amazing! The Bridle Path Track splits into different directions on top of the mountain, each leading to different tracks. We hiked from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, first in one direction, then in the other and also off trail. This is exactly why we came here, incredibly beautiful! And these were just small hikes compared to what we still want to hike.
When we arrived back at the bus station in Christchurch, we used the 'LIME' app to find 3 scooters. With this app, you can rent a scooter that goes up to 30 km/h, you pay 1 dollar to unlock it and then 0.38 cents per minute. We just wanted to ride home with it :D.
There is nothing more planned for tonight, we had a nice dinner and will watch a movie together. Tomorrow we will get up early again and have a bank appointment to open a bank account.
