It was not a good night. The wind picked up so much around 3 am that it was almost unbearable. It was scary and we were relieved when the storm finally subsided, even though it was replaced by rain and thunder.
In the morning, we got up and went for a short jog 🏃♂️🏃♀️ but then we sadly discovered that the hood of the car was damaged by a fallen branch from the storm 😣 so we had to deal with CanaDream first.
Somehow, we were all 'blown away' by the whole situation. No one felt like having a leisurely breakfast or going on the planned bike tour.
So we went to Tim Hortons for WiFi and then to the Visitor Center to find out what else we could do.
We decided to go to the KVR Trail, which went through the vineyards and orchards from Penticton and offered a breathtaking view of the lake. It was just too bad that it started to cloud over and rain 🌨 and for once we didn't have backpacks with rain gear ☹ Luckily, we had just arrived at Poplar Grove Cheese and we did a cheese and wine tasting there 🧀 🍷
Afterwards, we walked back, but had to take cover again and met a cyclist from Kempten who has been cycling for 7 weeks and told us his story. His mountain bike was stolen right when he arrived in Vancouver....
On the way back, it was mostly dry.
