Dem Ende entgegen ⛅

Atejade: 30.03.2022

Just three more sleeps and then it's back to Germany. Since the beginning of the week, my focus has been more and more on the end of my internship abroad. It is all the more important that I have already been able to implement some of my plans 🙂

I will no longer be able to play tennis or paddle. But tomorrow there will still be some culture with a visit to the historic city wall in Heraklion. In addition, we went to a football match in the 2nd Greek league today ⚽️ Unfortunately, you have to admit that the former Olympic Stadium (2004) is no longer in top shape. And the pictures don't deceive: there were probably only about 80 spectators in the stadium 😬

We are still regulars at work. Currently, the team on site is quite small, but we make the best of it. With my little project, I am in the final stages and want to deliver a useful result that will not disappear into a drawer.

By the way, new interns arrive in the city every few days. The tourist life is slowly starting up. Full streets or beaches in a few weeks are not really enviable. But the fact that sunny weather will only show itself again after my departure is. So fingers crossed and plates empty 🤤🏖

The latest recipe highlights from our accommodation are: wraps with local vegetables, feta cream and hummus, as well as pasta with homemade cheese sauce 👨‍🍳 If you ever come here, definitely visit one of the local markets. The fruits and vegetables are incredibly delicious, the prices unbelievably cheap (7 EUR for the shopping, including gifted products), and the people unbelievably friendly... I haven't seen any bread there, but everyone should take a slice of it 😇😜
