20/06/2021 to 21/06/2021 - Santa Margherita – Padua – Trento – Neuffen

Atejade: 30.07.2022

From Santa Margherita, we drove to Padua, which is 40 minutes away. The charming city is one of the oldest cities in Italy and also one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in the country. We parked the car centrally and walked through the streets. We visited Prato della Valle, the third largest square in Europe. There was a lot to see today, as countless flea market stands were set up around the square. But we only looked, we didn't find anything suitable. The most famous attraction in Padua is the Basilica di Sant'Antonio. We admired the significant pilgrimage church from the outside and spent a lot of time inside. The overwhelming basilica from the 13th century is characterized by interesting domes and remarkable artworks. Our city walk took us past the Botanical Garden, one of the oldest still existing botanical university gardens, to the Basilica di Santa Giustina. Inside this basilica is the tomb of St. Luke. We quickly had an espresso and then headed to Trento. We stayed here for one night and drove back to Germany the next day. Another beautiful and eventful vacation had come to an end.
