Hello 😊
Phuket - Thailand🇨🇷? Yes, you heard it right 😊 I unexpectedly got 3 days off and flew to Phuket for a long weekend. After visiting BASF in Shanghai with my department on Thursday evening, I headed to the airport. I flew overnight, so I had almost 5 full days in Phuket. The journey to the hostel took some time with a minibus and co. In the afternoon, I arrived at Kata Beach, theoretically a nice place with one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket, indeed the sea was wonderful to look at and, above all, you could swim in it, unlike in Suzhou where all water is forbidden. The theoretically part is because the city and the beach were very polluted, I knew that some places have problems with garbage, but it was really shocking how bad it was. On my second day, I booked a trip with a hike through the rainforest to Big Buddha. Early in the morning, we set off through the rainforest, and I was hoping to see monkeys or something, but unfortunately, I only saw a poisonous snake. When we arrived at Big Buddha, we had a really delicious meal with lots of fruit. Big Buddha itself is a tourist attraction, but you still had to cover your shoulders and legs. The view from the top over Phuket was really beautiful.
In the evening, I went partying with some people from my hostel in Patong, unfortunately, I didn't know that it was quite crowded, similar to the Ballermann in terms of the number of people. It was fascinating but really not nice 🙈 The club itself was okay but nothing special.
My trip to the islands phi phi Island and co. for snorkeling unfortunately got canceled due to rain, which was a bit of a shame as you are not very flexible with only 5 days. I spent my last 2 days at Paradise Beach. Since this was a private beach, there was no garbage there and it was not crowded. It was really amazing 😊 you could order food and drinks directly from the sun loungers, which were free for hostel residents. It was a truly lazy vacation 😄
My trip to Thailand was really wonderful, but there are certainly nicer places there than the ones I saw🏝️
Greetings Lena 😊
