Somehow strange it's Sunday and we want to visit the Ksar (fortified village) Ait Benhaddou. We tend to become Sunday excursionists. But it's pure coincidence, honestly. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It is a beautiful example of traditional Berber adobe architecture. It consists of a labyrinth of houses, towers, and collective granaries. Many houses are decorated with ornaments. Nestled together, they lie on the mountainside and offer an impressive view. For a long time, the kasbahs fell into disrepair, only in recent years has there been a lot of renovation. Numerous films have also been shot here, including The Physician. When you see it like this, it's easy to imagine. We parked ourselves at a campsite 4km away and only started walking around 4:30 pm, first through the riverbed and then back along the road. It was another 10 km, good for the legs. Tough training for Burki. In the dark, we eventually arrived back at the campsite. There was no water left for Burki to shower. Inshallah or something like that.
