It's Sunday and it could actually start now.
I'm sitting by the window, staring at the familiar hedge in the garden. Next Sunday, I'll be staring at the backrest of the passenger in front of me. And that for 6 hours. Get off, stretch your legs, take a quick look at the airport in Qatar and another 6 hours backrest...
But all that will be forgotten when we reach Uganda. We can expect 14 days full of impressions, wild animals, overnight stays in tents and gorillas in the wild up close. Rhinos, crocodiles, a boat trip on the Nile and animals, animals, animals over and over again.
The cameras have also been tried and tested. We drove to the Wildpark Schorfheide with the complete photo equipment, which would make a professional photographer pale (that's Olaf for you), to photograph the local Heidschnucke and the Polish wild horse. The impression of completely over-equipped, show-off city dwellers spread across the faces of the visitors - priceless.
But - we're ready - let's get started. There will be more in a week.
