Today we visited the local market with the hotel's chef. It's a bustling place where you can find everything - fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes, and even get a haircut on the spot. People drive scooters through the market and make their purchases while riding. There's constant honking and scooters coming from all directions.
Karolina has been looking for dried chili on every market, but unfortunately, they only sell it fresh here. She managed to get a small bag from one of the stands (our chef asked at about 15 stands).
He told us a lot about fish sauce (used for everything here), the spices, and more.
We wanted to buy coffee beans (which are not available at the market), so we stopped at a coffee shop and the chef asked if they sell beans. We each bought 2 kg of coffee beans - Vietnam is known for its excellent coffee.
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed the pool under the sunny sky with little wind until it was time for our cooking class.
We pre-selected 3 dishes that we wanted to cook. Chicken Curry, Fried Chicken Rolls, and Chicken Rolls with Rice Paper. The curry sauce was delicious, the chef had already prepared it (onion, sweet potato, lemongrass, garlic, and coconut milk blended). The order of preparation is different here - first the sauce, then the meat, and then the rice.
We enjoyed all our dishes and then went back to the pool to relax.
We received the recipes with an apron and a shopping bag. We also received a certificate 👏.
We spent the afternoon by the pool, almost until sunset, although the wind was getting stronger.
Today, we skipped dinner and enjoyed our second bottle of red wine before going to bed early.
