Since yesterday we are near Shkodër (ALB). After a drive twice as long as the navigation system indicated, we were rewarded with a beautiful campsite and an even more beautiful sunset.
Today we grabbed bicycles to ride to the Mes Bridge. It is the largest stone bridge from the Ottoman period in Albania. Our path led through small villages, over bumpy roads, along large fig and pomegranate trees, passing through a lot of non-touristy Albania.
The bridge was nice to look at; much more impressive to me was the way there. We encountered stray dogs, a wild cow raced towards us (or at least towards Kiran), we saw grandmothers rummaging in garbage, 100 meters further we could admire the most beautiful properties (all highly fenced), the fat Benz overtakes the donkey transport (in general there is a spontaneous driving style according to the motto of who has the stronger will) and many children greeted us very friendly on the roadside in English.
I'm curious to see if the impression of contrasts will be confirmed in the next few days. Good night ☆
