Queenstown is known as the adrenaline capital of the country, because here you can find everything from bungee jumping to skydiving that gives you an adrenaline rush.
The city is located on Lake Wakatipu and is very popular with tourists.
One of the highlights in the city is Queenstown Hill, which can be climbed either on foot or by gondola to Bob's Peak. I was motivated and started climbing the mountain on foot on the Tiki Trail. The path goes through the forest, sometimes steep uphill and literally over rocks and stones. Since it was lightly raining, it was quite slippery and I almost slipped a few times despite my hiking shoes. After a good hour, I reached the top and had a great view of the city and the lake.
On the way up, I had considered taking the gondola down - but given the price of 29 NZD for a 5-minute ride, I decided to walk back down on foot.
I then decided to invest some of the saved money in a burger from the most famous burger joint in New Zealand. At Fergburger, you can sometimes wait a while until you get your burger. I was lucky that it wasn't very busy, and after about 20 minutes, I had the burger in my hand and shortly after in my stomach :D
