How much fits in one day? - Bovec / Slovenia

Even the bus ride from Bled to Bovec on serpentines at 1700m and down to the valley, giving great views of mighty peaks, waterfalls, and foggy forests despite the cloudy weather and occasional rain. Nevertheless, after a burger, we immediately fell into our bed in our dormitory with 4 young travelers. Especially since we knew that the next day we would have to get up early for our canyoning tour.

On the next day, we went to the Fratarica Gorge together with a Czech group of young people and 2 Canadian friends. It's such a shame that we don't have any photos of it, but we let ourselves be abseiled down a 40m high waterfall and slid down several freefall water slides - one even into a cave! But the real highlight for us was getting to know Gabriella and Logan from Canada (Gabriella now in Dublin) - a perfect match! It's not surprising that we immediately went to the Soca to jump off the cliff together and enjoyed ourselves there with Pamela and Nina (don't worry, those are locally made passion fruit and coconut beers 😉).

And since there is also a late evening, we naturally couldn't miss the highly ambitious Slovenian duet of a band in Bovec.

What an action-packed and so far, we agree, absolutely favorite day!

At breakfast the next day, we ponder for a long time whether we should spontaneously cancel our bookings and simply travel to the Dolomites with Gabriella and Logan. But rationality wins out in the end, as we were not equipped for the altitude and didn't know how we would quickly get back to the Balkans.... but we learned a lot about their most beautiful and especially creepiest dates🤣😭....

At least I'm planning to see Gabriella again in Albania in September, and Logan is coming to Germany very soon, he promised😁
