Don't go to India

פֿאַרעפֿנטלעכט: 24.05.2023

My conclusion is that it is not a beautiful travel destination. Today, I will show you the photos that no one takes - of all the dirt here, which is really everywhere. Indians themselves like to travel and the hostels are mainly used by locals. Indians are not hospitable. They might want a selfie with you, stare at you, laugh at you, and ask you questions, but it's not a genuine interest in you, just curiosity. When you are in the rooms with them, they show no consideration at all. This experience is very unpleasant and makes you feel unwelcome. Yes, India is cheap, but as a foreigner, you are recognized everywhere and therefore pay more. So, you don't really save much. I don't like the mentality of the Indians, and there are nicer countries in Asia that are also inexpensive.

Positive: You can leave your stuff anywhere, no one will steal it. And you can shout and negotiate with them for 20 minutes about the price, and once it's set, everyone is nice again and will take you to your destination - no matter how far and bad the roads are - at that price.

The Wi-Fi in the hostels is usually very bad - I actually use my Airtel all the time, which is fortunately great and cheap at €4 for the whole month.

The bed linen in the hostels is really not nice - with stains and everything. I'm glad I brought my own. Most hostels don't have a washing machine, and you can't cook for yourself.
