Towards the Hebrides

פֿאַרעפֿנטלעכט: 04.07.2022

Yesterday we drove another whole stretch, namely 285 km, further. We also drove along the largest lake on this island, the 39 km long Loch Lomond. This thing is quite impressive, at a short muddy stop we were able to throw some stones as well. We also visited the waterfall a few meters further.

At the destination, we should use a Chargeplace Scotland charger for the first time. This association provides almost all charging options here - at least above Inverness and from the islands. Unfortunately, they do not send out charging cards abroad. You can only download their app with a UK account.

I failed at home, but here I managed it with an old cell phone and a new Google account and a new UK PayPal account.

It still helped, because the charger only started after I called the hotline and it only delivered 29 kW. It should be capable of 50 and the car could handle 110. So, this experiment was soon cancelled and the rest would be provided by the campground. However, the car won't be fully charged for the first time because we don't have a proper power supply in the booked mini cabin. However, it still reached 94%.

But the cabin was definitely worth it because it showed why the Loch is so big: It's almost constantly raining.

Nevertheless, today we visited the Gruffalo Trail and even started the gold search. However, the gold search quickly turned into work on the riverbed.

Moritz even discovered wild carnivorous plants.

Tomorrow we will continue to the ferry.
